Large pieces of furniture like sideboards and media units can be quite visually dominating, so it’s important that every inch of their surfaces is pleasing to the eye 👁 For our Kensington Row project, we chose this @westelmuk console in carbonised wood. The blackened finish brings out the beautiful grain of the wood, the geometric carvings are bold and tactile, and the slender brass legs bring a contemporary glamour. This is a brilliant piece of interior architecture by @gunterandco, the balustrade morphing seamlessly into a room divider that encloses the seating area while still letting the light pour in. It’s a simple idea, but completely changes the feel of the room! We particularly like how the dark graphic lines are echoed in the legs of the furniture, bringing structure to an otherwise softly toned and textured space. Brand new buildings can sometimes feel a bit blank, so it’s important to use natural textures, shapes and patterns to add warmth and a feeling of spontaneity to their interiors. We love the monumental quality of this side table by @gingerandjagger, carved from a single piece of solid marble. The irregular planes and flowing lines of the base feel completely organic, while the highly polished surface establishes its luxe credentials. 📸@loskutoff

The inspiration behind this project for a private client was a chic Parisian apartment, the kind that effortlessly mixes high-end finishes with a sense of playfulness and irreverence. This extraordinary table with a hand-painted rose pewter base and Arabescato marble surface was created by @tomfaulknerfurniture, who also built the bespoke shelving to our design. This stunning wallpaper by @nobilis_paris is inspired by the art and ceramics of Japan 🇯🇵 The dreamlike mountain motif recalls the woodblock prints of Hiroshige and Hokusai, while the texture – iridescent and subtly crackled – evokes the Raku style of pottery. We can’t decide which is our favourite colourway: the jewel tones, the soft ochre theme or the shades of grey. 📸 @oracle_paris
