It’s also thought to help to reverse and protect skin from sun damage (funny since dandelions look like little sunshines) and is mildly pain relieving. Dandelion blossoms are delicate, use the warm setting on the crock pot and check it often to make sure it is not heating up too much. For dandelion blossom oil I prefer the quick method of infusion. I feel like putting it in a jar and letting it infuse over a couple weeks brings the chance for mold, because the flowers are freshly dried. You could also put it in a jar and put the jar in the crock pot with water, and make sure the water doesn’t get above 100 degrees. But with this method you need to keep a lid on the jar so no water gets in the oil, which could possibly trap evaporating water from the blossoms.  That’s why I choose this method of putting the dandelion blossoms and oil directly in the crock pot and use the warm setting (not the low setting) and keep an eye on it.  Dandelion Blossom Oil Infuse ½ cup of packed and dried dandelions with a cup of carrier oil. I used jojoba because I like how thick and waxy it is. Another good choice would be extra virgin olive oil, because it’s such an amazing oil  After it is infused for 24 hours or when it smells like an herby oil with a deep golden color strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean glass jar. The recipe below only uses 3 tbs of dandelion blossom oil, so you should have some left for other recipes. It makes a great face oil that helps aging from sun or nourishing body butter. Or diaper rash balm. It’s good for so many things. You could even mix with essential oils for a pain relieving balm. Dandelion Blossom Balm 3 tbs Dandelion oil  1 tsp Rosehip seed oil  1 tbs shea 1tbs Beeswax  Combine all the ingredients in a double boiler and melt gently over low heat. Once it’s melted pour it into your containers Enjoy! 🌞 #herbalskincare #naturalskincare #naturalremedies #organicskincare #recipeshare #herbsandspices #forage | The Wild Apothecary | Facebook

Castor oil has been shown to reduce the melanin in the skin and also to help with hyper pigmentation and baking soda has natural bleaching properties so when you mix the two they work really well to lighten up areas. Use caution with baking soda and don’t use it too often because it can irritate the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin so it’s always good to do a skin patch test before trying this out. I do equal parts, baking soda, and castor oil and only make it in small amounts. 1 tablespoon of castor oil to 1 tablespoon of baking soda are the measurements that I use— you could use more than that and stored away for future use. I like to use this as a facial scrub once or twice a month. You can also use it as a scrub on your legs or arms or the backs of your hands, especially to help with creepy skin and age spots. 90K views · 1K reactions | The last time I posted this bread someone on Facebook called me dangerous. I kinda liked it 🤭 Foolproof Bread:The night before(or really early in the morning) combine the following: *4 cups all purpose flour (King Arthur) * 2 cups water (use a liquid measuring cup) * 1 packet of instant yeast (2 and 1/4 tsp) * 2 tsp salt * 2 tablespoons of olive oil divided (1 tbsp for the mixture, 1 for the bowl) Put ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with large spoon. Use your hands to make sure everything is combined and forms a raggedy ball. If it looks too wet to form a ball add a little more flour. Coat with remaining EVOO and cover. Let sit overnight on the counter or at least 8 hours. You do not need to refrigerate. The next day turn dough out onto a floured surface and quickly shape into a tight ball. Place on parchment paper. Cover with a towel for 2 more hours. When ready to bake, place Dutch oven (I use a 4.5 quart) in the oven and preheat to 450. When temp is reached, score the top of dough with an X and transfer to the hot Dutch oven. Bake with lid on for 30 minutes. Take lid off and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Allow bread to cool for 30 minutes before cutting. | Mykycottage | Facebook
