I had a pretty little visitor yesterday! There was so much interest in it in my Story that I thought I’d post a little more about this stylish moth 👛 and moths & wool in general. It’s a Rosy Maple Moth and common in the East US. If you Google it, you’ll see that it mimics maple 🍁 fruit as it ages to pink and yellow colors! 🧶 (also, @mothy.and.the.squid has a beautiful yarn colorway using it as inspiration!) I’m finally done with Releases 1-4 of the @rowanyarns #elderthrowkal! Yes yes we’re on Release 6 but 🤷‍♀️😆. So far I’ve been able to 50% hand knit, 50% machine knit. Anything with garter stitch or circular is for hand and joins me while binging TV! This is a #freepattern, there’s still lots of time to join 👊 Garter Stitch, Kal, Im Awesome, Modular, Free Pattern

😅 So I needed a TV project... but I didn’t realize it would be 5 years worth of TV! 🤣 This will be (maybe this decade) a gorgeous coat called Dally by #annyblatt (I just added the pattern to Rav if you want to see it). It has fancy trims, pockets and collar so I thought it would be fun to put together... but nooooo all the fun is sewn on at the end! 😱 So I have a circumference of the earth amount of moss stitch ahead of me. One of my favorite things about this sweater is the reverse stockinette “yoke”! From the photo in #vogueknitting I didn’t know if the back had it too, but it does. Very fun. I was able to knit this on a machine using a ribber attachment for the purl stitches. Worked like a charm — but for you #machineknitting newbies... your ribber gauge won’t be the same as the knitter even if it’s the same number. I usually loosen it ~1 tension number. 👍 🏷Pattern: Puff Sleeve Jacket by Vladimir Teriokhin fro Purl Stitch, Stockinette, Vladimir, Fro, Knitters, Tension

I’m very close to finishing the back of my Bela Pullover by #annyblatt! It looks suuuuuper long because it has drop sleeves. It also looks so small but it is a cabled rib so it will cling? These are 14 stitch cables! How do you do that, you ask? Use TWO cable needles 🤯: 1. 6 sts held to front 2. 2 sts held to back 3. Pattern 6 sts 4. Knit 2 from 2nd cable needle 5. Pattern 6 sts 6. My experiment with novelty yarn in #fairisle is done! It was fun and I’ll do it again, but next time with more contrast. 🕯This cardigan has special meaning for me. My next project! ⛏ I’m mining old mags and remembered that I always wanted to make this one from @vogueknittingmagazine Winter 07/08. It needs 825yds and I’ve got 880yds of a lovely sea blue wool my husband brought me years ago from Switzerland 🇨🇭. Some of you may know that I am a major fan of #annyblatt yarns and patterns. I just scored this vintage book from 1952 for $1.99 on EBay! Here’s an actual pic of the fair-isle version of the Noro colorway I’m using for my “spaghetti 🍝 sweater”! Because I was alternating with gray, I had to cut out the gray to keep the contrast. Now that I am using leftovers, I seem to only be getting gray 😂.) This is a #freepattern that no longer is available on the Rowan website because the yarn it uses is discontinued. ➡️Word to the wise: if you see a free pattern on knitrowan.com that you like, download it! ⬅️ BUT we are lucky 🍀 because the Gradient Yarns, Noro, Lana, Knit Crochet, Stripes
