The Archangel is a unique minimalist instrument utilizing the airfoil-shaped neck cross-section. This one has frets, but that's about it. There is only cocobolo rosewood for the body and curly maple for the fretboard and bridge, tensioned with steinberger gearless tuners. A custom-designed pickup from Pete Biltoft at Vintage Vibe pickups is hidden under the bridge plate. It's hardwired through a permanent tone control for a mellow and jazzy tone.
