Open viking apron dress.

I think full lining like this open apron dress is a good idea. I'm not crazy about how this is pinned, you see a lot of pulling at the waist. I think three pins from top to waist would work better.

Viking women by ~DarkSunTattoo on deviantART A simple tone on tone scheme that works well. Addition of the headscarf sells it. I wonder what period of viking or if this is viking headwear?

Viking - back of apron

Viking - back of apron. Hedeby style as used by Svartland. Once again the style of a sarafan is depicted in the clothing of the Vikings. The close straps in the back make this apron dress a sarafan.

Interpretation of Viking women's outfit by Mona Fängström. Do we have clear evidence that this is how artists represented the double brooches?

The is probably the best preserved garment amongst the finds from the late 14th century Herjolfsnes. It likely belonged to a woman about 30-40 of age, 150 cm tall. Triangular gores were inserted into the front and back pieces. The sidegores were made from 1 piece of fabric that has been extended down to the armpit with additional pieces, and divided in the middle by a false seam. Short sleeves had one inserted gore on the base in the back.
