Fox paws is a rectangular wrap with a distinctive stripe motif that looks like little interlocking fox feet. Using only increases and decreases, stripes are shaped into extreme waves using the same technique as the Petal Cowl pattern but with more unusual shapes. It can be worked in 2 or more colors without any stranded or intarsia techniques so there are no strange loops on the wrong side and the wrap is very stretchy and drapey.

Petal is a cowl designed to highlight the color shifts of a self striping yarn. The stitch shapes are inspired by flower petals, fish scales, and vintage crochet afghans. A great summer knit, or a cold weather project when made in heavy yarn. A unique stitch is used to create an extra long chevron motif which sets this cowl apart.

Some people claim that scarves make for a boring project both to knit and wear, but they are wrong. I’m personally challenging you to go for something bold in both look and technique. This project is a great quick gift knit and a perfect first time introduction to stacked increases and decreases, a technique which creates extreme waves of color.
