Common Kestrel
The Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is a small, agile bird of prey. Length: 34-40 cm, wingspan: 70-80 cm. Glossy brown back, wings, and tail, with pale underside and black spots. Distinctive black stripe on forehead. Swift, wingbeat-hovering flight. Hunts insects, small mammals, and birds. Found in urban, rural, and natural environments worldwide, except Antarctica.
