This is the famous “Marie-Antoinette” dress from the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. It should be noted that the Toronto gown was simply presented as “attributed to Rose Bertin” without any mention of prior ownership by Marie-Antoinette.

Made in this exquisite court dress was worn by Edwige Elisabeth Charlotte de Holstein-Gottorp for her wedding to Prince Karl of Sweden. It would have originally had long sleeves but they were most likely removed to be reused on another court dress
