The death of characters in Harry Potter is something that impacts fans dramatically. This gives rise to alternate endings, fanfictions of the dead, and also gives rise to subgroups of the fandom. For example, there are subgroups of the fandom that believes Sirius Black is alive, or that Dumbledore is alive etc. These add onto the denial of the fans; they continue to have conspiracy theories to content their understanding of the story.
